Rae Peters Memorial Heat Race Challenge
Once again, this year's Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek will play host to the Rae Peters Memorial Speedweek Challenge. This year's award will be presented in honor of Bill Kimmel. The award was created as a way for the Peters family to honor their late mother while giving something back to the Pennsylvania Sprint Car racing scene.
Quite simply, the challenge awards a point to each driver every time they win
a heat race during Speedweek. The driver with the most wins at the conclusion of Speedweek is declared the winner. The only stipulation is that the driver must have attempted to qualify for all completed races during speedweek. In the event of a tie between multiple drivers, the driver lower in the overall Speedweek points standings will be declared the winner and will be presented their award at the Speedweek awards ceremony.
On behalf of the Peters family, the BHG would like to thank everyone who has donated to this award in the past and we also encourage people to participate and donate again for the 2008 edition.
If you would like to donate to the award, you may contact the webmaster for more details or you can stop by to see the BHG at Williams Grove to make a donation. |
